Our Havanese

We take seriously the health of our Havanese. The best chance for producing healthy puppies is in breeding healthy parents. Each of our Havanese is OFA health tested and certified for the recommended tests. We have also DNA screened each of our lines to be sure we are clear of several genetic issues, the most important being chondrodysplasia. Many years ago I learned the hard way that chondrodysplasia is a genetic issue that plagues Havanese. A beautiful male puppy I had acquired was afflicted with the disorder but we weren’t able to detect it until he was 5 months old. Parents can be carriers without manifesting symptoms, which is why the DNA screening is so important. Fortunately, it is also so easy to do! The DNA test results are included on the OFA pages.

Introducing our beautiful Hungarian Franz from Christa's Jumpy Clowns.  Hans is out of Hungarian Champions Jatakabi’s Blow My Mind and Christa’s Jumpy Clown Griadilla.  He is such a sweet boy with a luxurious coat and dreamy eyes and weighs in at about 12 lbs.  We are so grateful to have him!  Click HERE to view Franz' OFA certifications and click HERE to view his pedigree.
